Q & A

The Big Day!

What should I wear?

We kindly request cocktail attire for our wedding celebration! While we’d love for everyone to dress up for the occasion, our top priority is that you feel comfortable, confident, and ready to have fun. Cocktail attire typically means semi-formal outfits—think polished and party-ready. This could be a suit, a dress, a jumpsuit, or coordinated separates. Both the ceremony and reception will take place indoors, and cocktail hour will be held on a patio—so no need to stress about your shoes! Choose footwear that feels good for dancing the night away! We can’t wait to celebrate with you in style!

What is the weather usually like this time of year?

Ah, Maryland in March… your guess is as good as ours! On March 20th in Elkton, we could have a beautiful spring day with sunshine and blooming flowers—or a surprise snow flurry just to keep things interesting. Historically, temps range anywhere from the mid-40s to low-60s, but truly, Maryland weather loves to keep us on our toes. We recommend checking the forecast closer to the date and dressing in layers just in case Mother Nature decides to make a statement on our big day! The good news is that everything is indoors or on a covered patio, so rain/snow or shine - we are doing this thing!

What time should I arrive?

Please plan to arrive at Rosewood Farms by 4:00PM. This will give you plenty of time to park, say hello to friends and family, and find a seat prior to the ceremony start at 4:30PM.

Is there parking available at Rosewood Farms?

Yes! There is on-site parking available for all guests. We’ll also be providing transportation from the hotel for those who prefer not to drive. Check the Travel & Accommodations section of our website for more information about the shuttle.

What is an unplugged ceremony?

We kindly ask that you join us in being fully present during our wedding ceremony by putting away your phones and cameras. We’re having an unplugged ceremony because we want this moment to be as meaningful and intimate as possible—not just for us, but for all of you who mean so much to us. There will be a special “social media moment” during the ceremony where we’ll invite everyone to take out their phones and capture the joy! Until then, we’d love for you to simply be in the moment with us, sharing in the love and emotion of the day—no screens necessary. Thank you for honoring this with us. We can’t wait to see your smiling faces as we say “I do.”

Will there be an open bar?

Of course! Have you met the Shay family? The venue will have an open bar, so don’t worry—you’ll be well taken care of. Just a heads-up, though: Rosewood Farm’s policy is that alcohol service stops at 9:30 PM (30 minutes before the reception ends). They won’t be making a big "last call" announcement, so consider this your official warning! We highly recommend getting your last round in before 9:30 to keep the good times flowing. And don’t worry about getting back to the hotel after all the fun—transportation will be provided! We want everyone to remain safe, so feel free to leave your car in Rosewood’s parking lot overnight if needed. Just be sure to retrieve it by 9 AM the next day, as the lot will need to be cleared by then. We can’t wait to raise a glass with you!

Where are you registered?

Although your presence on our special day is the best gift we could receive, we realize that some of you would like to know where we are registered. Right here on our wedding website is the easiest way to access all of our registries in one place. We also have a cash fund, if you would prefer this option.

Travel & Accommodations

Where is the closest airport?

The closest airport is Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). PHL is located approximately 34.7 Miles from the Courtyard by Marriott. Please see the travel section of our website for more information about traveling to the wedding.

Is there a hotel block for the wedding?

Yes! We’ve reserved a block of rooms at the Courtyard by Marriott in Newark, DE for your convenience. Head over to the Travel & Accommodations section of our website for full details about the hotel block, plus other nearby accommodation options. If you’d like to stay at the Courtyard Marriott, please make your reservation by Sunday, February 15th to secure the group rate. If you're booking before February 15th and notice that no rooms are available, just let us know—we’re happy to reach out to the hotel to request additional rooms for our block!

Will there be transportation from the hotel to the wedding?

Yes! We will be providing round-trip transportation for guests. Transportation will only be provided from the Courtyard Marriott, where our hotel block is reserved. If you're not staying at the Courtyard Marriott, you're still welcome to drive or take a rideshare to the hotel and hop on the shuttle from there! If you’d like to take the shuttle, please indicate this when you submit your online wedding RSVP. Departure: Delaware Express Shuttles will arrive at the Courtyard Marriott at 3:15 PM and will depart promptly at 3:30 PM for the venue. Return Trips: Shuttles will return from Rosewood Farms to the hotel at 9:15 PM, 10:15 PM, and 10:30 PM. If you prefer to drive to the wedding on your own, there is plenty of on-site complimentary parking available at Rosewood Farms.

Invites & RSVPs

When should I RSVP?

If you are able to RSVP as soon as you receive your invitation, that would be extremely helpful. We request that you RSVP before Friday, February 20, 2026 . Unfortunately, after that we will have to mark any unanswered invites as "not attending" due to our vendors' deadlines.

Can I bring a plus one?

We’re keeping our wedding as intimate as possible (which is no small feat with Victoria’s big, loving family!). If you received a plus one, it will be noted on your invitation and reflected when you RSVP through the website under your name. We truly appreciate your understanding as we celebrate this special day with our closest loved ones.

Are kids invited?

We absolutely love the little ones in our lives, and a few special kiddos who are near and dear to us will be part of our celebration, as indicated on the invitations. While we wish we could include everyone’s children, we’re keeping the wedding as intimate as possible, so we’ve only included children on select invitations. We truly understand that traveling without your kids can be tricky, and we’re so grateful for the effort it takes to make arrangements. For those of you bringing your kids, for safety reasons, all children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times while on the Rosewood Farms property, due to the proximity of the lake to the barns.
